Capturing and draining nuisance water from troubled or targeted areas with minimal disruption

Three recognized professionals with expertise in the water management industry have organized Trenchless Groundwater Movers LLC so they can deploy and share their patented pioneering technology that ties into new or existing drainage to capture and drain off nuisance water from troubled or targeted areas with minimal disruption.

The Challenge

Drainage systems for handling surface water and groundwater are aging, difficult to repair, and often ineffective. Urbanization continues to increase the amount of nuisance water and quickly exposes fallibilities in existing drainage systems. There is a growing need for new and refurbished drainage systems for handling nuisance water that current industry practices do not adequately address. The advent of directional drilling opens up a myriad of possibilities for new and effective approaches for draining surface and groundwater.

What are some examples of nuisance water problem situations which Trenchless Groundwater Movers might help resolve? Here are just a few:

  • The need for a sump pump where there isn’t a power source
  • Groundwater flows or surface runoff require redirection
  • Polluted groundwater needs to be moved
  • Reducing groundwater infiltration into a sewer system and resulting sewer overflows
  • Remove the threat of damage due to rising groundwaters
  • Improved management of Superfund or Brownfield site

The Solution

Trenchless Groundwater Movers’ pioneering technology uses water collection ports in a drainage pipe that is buried vertically and tied into any existing drainage line or a newly installed drainage line to capture and drain off nuisance water from troubled or targeted areas. We position the water collection ports at a specific elevation along the pipe to control the amount of nuisance water collected at the point of installation. Screens and filters positioned at the water collection ports help prevent clogging and control the amount of water collected from the surrounding area. The system is installed with minimal disruption to the installation site and surrounding area.
